Concentrating on the essential aspects of good design I would like to list down a set of rules that keep me within my boundaries when working individually or in a group.
The most important part is building new ideas and breaking them to question their existence. It’s a pattern, which I would follow to critique my own work. I should make it a habit to note down any idea I have so that I can build on it later. I make it a point to have a purpose behind every idea and not do work just for the heck of it. I would like to work on implementing my learning’s in my design.
Work ethics are highly important to me. I like to maintain a certain flow and consistency in my work which is only possible with a certain amount of determination and discipline. What I have learnt till now is that the outcome matters lesser than the knowledge I have picked up during the process. I like to question the existence of a certain product, this makes me more observant and I develop an interest in these things/ideas. Even while working in a group I make it a point to learn some things from their way of working and not get intimidated by it. I have always underestimated my self-looking at others but that has always pushed me and increased my bank of knowledge. I also think that maybe sometimes it is important for me to become selfish and not always give in to what people ask for.
With all this in mind I believe whatever you learn every moment, every experience that builds up your life, is not a waste, its just the implementation that’s the tricky part and once you learn that life’s just a piece of cake.
