Even if one thinks he is an individual is he really one? Have you ever not become a parasite and used up other people’s resources to achieve goals you've desired. But as far as I know there has never been an individual so distant or so independent from society. Even if there is one, he would be without any language, culture or vision and would be surviving with the crudest of the resources available. You get to see a similar example in the wild where animals are abandoned by their own mother and left all by themselves to survive. No spoon-feeding, no giving away knowledge, they start from the scratch, absorb every bit of knowledge that’s been thrown upon them by mother nature, learn what’s good for their welfare and what’s not. There is no one they can go to, to get second thoughts. That’s how Mother Nature trains them for the difficulties in life. I was going through an article where I stumbled upon this great quote by George Carlin, “I like it when a flower or a little tuft of grass grows through a crack in the concrete. It’s so fuckin' heroic”. The misfits, the crazy ones, trouble makers, the rebels- like Steve Jobs states it, “who have the will and determination to change the world with their craziness are the ones who do.” It takes a lot of courage to survive and dodge those prying eyes, for what?, Just because their way of living is a bit different from their's. But an individualist will not be afraid of their scrutiny and their immaterial and inconsiderable judgments. It all comes down to how one tackles all of this ,how shameless can one be and how he proves his self efficiency.
